ELEM - Macedonian Power Plants

Company description
JS Company Macedonian Power Plants, ELEM, is a power generator and the largest Macedonian power producer. ELEM was established in September 2005 as one of the successor companies of the former electric utility ESM AD Skopje and holds a 35-year generation license granted by the ERC in November 2005. ELEMís main business lines are power generation and lignite extraction. The company owns and operates seven hydropower plants (528 MW),two thermal power plants (800 MW) and three coalmines. ELEMís total generation capacity of 1,328 MW makes up 84% of the power generation capacity currently installed in the electricity sector of Macedonia.
